Custom Backgrounds

Make the main screen yours: Settings → Appearance swaps the flat backdrop for a wallpaper or a photo from your library, and two faders control how much of it shows through. Custom backgrounds are a GranSample Pro feature.

Choosing a background

The Appearance section shows swatches for the default look plus four built-in wallpapers — Midnight, Nebula, Ember, and Violet Hour — all tuned to sit quietly behind the UI. Tap Choose Photo… to use your own picture instead; GranSample stores an optimized copy, so the original in your library is untouched.

Dim and pad opacity

Two faders appear once a background is active, each labelled at both ends so the direction is obvious:

• Dim (LIGHT ↔ DARK) — a black scrim over the background. Pull it toward DARK when a bright photo fights with the interface.
• Pad opacity (CLEAR ↔ SOLID) — fades the pads’ rubber surfaces so the background shows through them. Waveforms, labels, and outlines stay solid, so pads remain readable at any setting.

The background shows on the main pad screen only — sheets and editors keep solid surfaces for legibility. Reset to Default returns everything to the stock look in one tap.
