Exporting Audio
Bounce your full mix to an audio file. A GranSample Pro feature.
GranSample can record your full mix in real time and save it to an audio file you can share anywhere. Recording is open to everyone; saving the finished take out of the app is a GranSample Pro feature.
How export works
GranSample bounces by capturing the live master output — everything you hear, after the mixer and the effects chain — while you perform. There is no separate offline render: you press record, play your pads or run the step sequencer, and the master signal is written to disk as it plays. When you stop, you have a finished take you can audition, then export.
The recorder lives in the LCD bar at the top of the Pad Grid home screen, alongside the BPM and metronome controls. Its transport row holds, from left to right: REC, rewind, play/pause, stop, export, and delete.
Recording a take
- Set up your kit, mix, and effects as you want them in the bounce.
- Tap REC. The LCD shows a pulsing
RECindicator and a live waveform, and the timecode counts up. - Perform — trigger pads, run the sequencer, tweak parameters. Everything in the master output is captured.
- Tap pause to suspend and resume the same take, or stop to finish.
Once you stop, the take is ready to review. Use rewind and play/pause to audition it, and scrub by dragging on the LCD waveform. The delete (trash) button discards the take so you can start a fresh one.
Output format
Takes are saved as a WAV file: 24-bit linear PCM at the engine’s sample rate, matching the master output’s channel count. The format badge on the LCD shows the file type of the current take.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Format | WAV (linear PCM) |
| Bit depth | 24-bit |
| Sample rate | Follows the audio engine’s output sample rate |
Saving and sharing (Pro)
With a finished take in place, tap the export button (the share icon). GranSample opens the standard iOS share sheet for the recorded file, so you can save it to Files, drop it into another app, AirDrop it, or send it through any installed sharing destination.
Export is gated to Pro. On the free tier the export button shows a small padlock, and tapping it opens the paywall instead of the share sheet. Recording, playback, and review of a take all work without Pro — only saving the file out of the app requires the upgrade.
See GranSample Pro for everything the upgrade unlocks, and the Mixer for balancing levels before you bounce.
